Waiting Lounge

Today begins my five-day weekend.  And where am I on the first morning of my extra long weekend?  I’m hanging out in the Subaru waiting lounge, waiting for some regular maintenance to be performed.  The atmosphere of the waiting lounge between this Subaru one and a MINI/BMW one is like night and day.  And this is after the Subaru one has gone through a renovation.  At least they have Wi-Fi access here now.  Also, thankfully, they’ve moved the restroom out of this tiny waiting lounge, so I no longer have to sit here and listen to one employee after another, um, do their business.  I’d say the television in here is about, oh, 30 inches smaller than the one in the BMW waiting area.

Soon (I hope) I’ll be out of here and ready to enjoy my extra long weekend.  Today we’ll be heading to an A’s game.  The $2 tickets are sold out, surprisingly, so I’ll probably spring for some nice seats today, meaning that Colin might actually see the baseball at tonight’s game, as opposed to our last visit where he was able to spot the ball maybe once an inning.  The rest of the weekend is still wide open.  I’m thinking of doing a tour of playgrounds, since it’s cheap and the kids have so much fun anyway.  There’s a new playground in Palo Alto I want to check out.  I’ve heard there’s a fun miniature train ride in San Mateo’s Central Park.  And we might visit the huge playground in Golden Gate Park, which everybody seems to love, except that it’s so crowded, you really have to keep an eye on your kid.  So, it should be a fun and relaxing long weekend, with a wedding to attend right in the middle on Friday.  Probably no fireworks on July 4, though, as Colin is not thrilled about loud noises.
